Physical Slop: Rage, Love & Chaos by Shart Artfunkle

An Art Review by Level Best Trainee gallery assistants Jude, Tom G, Claire & Will, with assistance from staff member Gemma.

Physical Slop Review 08.09.2026

“This exhibition is unusual and very ‘out there’. We think that the artist has made the exhibition bad on purpose.”

“Shart Artfunkle uses collage in their work, which we think is good. There are lots of cut out words and drawings. Some of them are a bit explicit and unusual. There are 14 pieces in total.”

“The artwork feels very busy and in your face. It’s unusual, erotic and sexy!”

“We think that the art is a little rude – there’s no holding back. The work challenges you to question your perception of what art is.”

Our favourite pieces:

  • Tom chose Number 2 – because it has pink lipstick.
  • Jude chose Number 3 – because it’s chaotic and he likes the writing on the face as it draws in the viewer.
  • Will chose ‘All Ego Must Go’ – because it’s really colourful and stands out.
  • Claire chose the skeleton drawings – because they’re striking!

You should come and have a look at this artwork IF YOU DARE! It’s worth checking out for yourself. It’s not for children (too rudey for you!) It leaves us a bit speechless.

We give the exhibition the following marks out of 10:

  • Jude 10/10
  • Tom G 7/10
  • Claire 9/10
  • Will 7/10

Physical Slop by Art Shartfunkle is on display at the Level Best Gallery until 29th September.
