On Friday, 30 January 2026, our kitchen team catered for a milestone event – the opening of Colchester’s Digital Forum, a new city-centre workspace operated by Colbea.
The event marked the completion of a significant regeneration project in the city centre, and the start of a new chapter for Colchester’s digital and creative business community.
The menu was freshly prepared by our team and designed to be easy to enjoy while guests met, talked and explored the building.
We also created a lemon and blueberry sponge cake, finished with a bespoke Digital Forum graphic, to mark the occasion. It was a simple but thoughtful way to acknowledge the significance of the opening and the work that has gone into bringing the building back into use.
Local Delivery, Done Sustainably
The buffet lunch was delivered by our partners at Colchester e-Cargo, using electric cargo bikes. It was good to see a local, low-emission delivery service playing a part in the day, and a great example of Colchester organisations working together in the city centre.
Supporting Local Events in Colchester
The Digital Forum has been created to support growing businesses, collaboration and new ways of working in Colchester. We were pleased to support its opening and to provide catering that complemented the event without taking focus away from it.
