LIFTS AND LADDERS by Jane Ostler

LIFTS AND LADDERS by Jane Ostler is the next exhibition coming to the Level Best Art Gallery, opening Friday 2nd May.
Using painting, drawing and print, Jane explores “the links between creativity and autobiography, and the role of subjectivity and personal histories in constructing art” but describes her practice as ‘superficially whimsical’.
“I love visual language and painting and drawing and the power of the still image, and contemplative time.
Sometimes I use several images or objects, to create more complex relationships in the work, which I hope the viewer will like.
The last six months has seen me remind myself of the power of drawing the subjects I love.”
There will be a coffee break preview of the exhibition and chance to meet the artsist on Wednesday 14th May from 11am-1pm, all welcome.
