At Level Best, we believe everyone should feel welcome, comfortable and able to take part, so we are proud to share that we have joined the ECL Sensory Action Alliance.
This is another visible step in our commitment to making Level Best as accessible and inclusive as possible. It reflects what we have always aimed to do. Create a space where people feel supported, understood and able to be themselves.
What Is The Sensory Action Alliance?
The Sensory Action Alliance is a national initiative led by Essex Cares Limited – the ECL Sensory Action Alliance
The ECL Sensory Action Alliance brings together organisations, businesses and community spaces that want to improve the experience of people living with sensory loss.
This includes people with sight loss, hearing loss, and other sensory differences.
Members make a pledge to take action. This could mean improving spaces, communication or staff awareness. Small changes that make a big difference.
Our pledge:
Pledge 1: To review our menus to ensure they are accessible to all users.
Pledge 2: To ensure we are an accessible service to visitors with sensory impairments.
Why This Matters
For many people, everyday environments can present challenges.
Things like unclear signage, background noise or busy spaces can make it harder to feel confident and comfortable.
These barriers are often unintentional, but they can have a real impact.
At Level Best, inclusion is at the heart of what we do. We support adults with learning disabilities every day. But inclusion should go further than that.
Joining the Sensory Action Alliance helps us think more broadly about accessibility and how we can improve the experience for everyone who visits us.
What This Means For Level Best
As part of our ongoing commitment to accessibility, we will continue to:
- Look at how our space works for people with sensory needs
- Make practical improvements where we can
- Support our Trainees and our team to build awareness and confidence
- Listen to feedback from our community
How You Can Get Involved
The Sensory Action Alliance is open to organisations, businesses and community groups.
