April has been a month full of creativity, learning, and community spirit at Level Best Enterprises! Here’s a look back at some of our favourite moments and a sneak peek at what’s coming up next.
📚 A Gruffalo Visit from Essex Libraries
We kicked off the month with a magical visit from Tony and Christina at Essex Libraries, who treated us to an interactive reading of The Gruffalo. Everyone was captivated by the story. Thank you for bringing Julia Donaldson’s classic to life in our space! As Derek put it, “It was very nice.” 🐻
♟️ Chess Masterclass with E2-E4 Colchester Chess Club
A big thank you to Jay and Chris from the E2-E4 Colchester Chess Club for hosting a chess masterclass in our café. Our trainees sharpened their strategic skills and had a blast learning new moves. “It was epic,” said Stephen, capturing the excitement of the day! 👏
🎨 Fruit Painting Workshop with Mariya McAllister
Creativity was in full bloom during our expert fruit painting class led by the talented @mariya_mcallister. Trainees explored still life techniques and enjoyed a colourful, hands-on session in the art room. Thank you, Mariya, for inspiring us! 🖌️
🛍️ Pop Up Shop at The Minories
We loved meeting so many of you at our Pop Up Shop at The Minories last week. Thank you for supporting our trainees, who did a fantastic job welcoming customers, handling payments, and keeping the shop looking fabulous. Special thanks to the The Minories team for hosting us-we’ll be back! If you missed the Pop Up, don’t worry: our shop at Level Best is open Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4pm, with a range of gifts, cards, and seasonal treats available all year round. 🎁
🍓 Upcoming: Preserves Taster Day – 16th May
Mark your calendars! Our seasonal department is hosting a Preserves Taster Day on Thursday, 16th May, from 10 am to 12 pm. Come along to sample our homemade jams, chutneys, and preserves. The kitchen will also be serving a Ploughman’s Special. Don’t miss this delicious opportunity to try something new! 🧀
🍰 Level Best Kitchen: Cakes Galore
Our kitchen has been a hive of activity, with trainees Anthony, Owen, and Alex baking up a storm. Their gorgeous cakes have been a hit with everyone well done, team! 🎂
