May has been a vibrant month filled with creativity, learning, and new skills all around Level Best Enterprises! Here’s a look back at some of our favourite highlights and what our trainees have been up to.
🍑 Connor’s Plum BBQ Sauce Success!
One of our seasonal sessions saw Connor working hard to create his very own Plum BBQ Sauce with support from staff and fellow trainees. Huge congratulations to Connor for completing one of his goals! Want to try it? Grab a bottle for just £3.50, perfect for those upcoming summer BBQs!
🎭 Shakespeare with a Twist: A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Level Best
Our weekly MYC SEND group took centre stage in April, performing a hilarious take on A Midsummer Night’s Dream right here in our gallery! With appearances from Shrek’s swamp and even a nod to the Jeremy Kyle Show, the performance had everyone laughing and cheering. Well done to all the fantastic performers for bringing Shakespeare to life with such flair!
🐾 Animal Care Workshop with Highcliff Veterinary Practice
A big thank you to Leanne from Highcliff Veterinary Practice for leading an engaging workshop on health checks and animal behaviour. Trainees enjoyed hands-on learning, from putting on bandages to using stethoscopes and even trying on surgical gowns and lab coats! As Claire said, “It was fun and interesting.”
🍓 Preserves Taster Morning
Our seasonal department welcomed visitors to sample our homemade jams, chutneys, and preserves. With Stephen on hand to guide tasters, and a delicious Ploughman’s Special served at lunchtime, it was a tasty celebration of local flavours. If you missed it, don’t worry our preserves are always available at Level Best!
🧵 Textile Art Month: Dale’s Handmade Pillow
As part of our ongoing Textile Art Month, Dale achieved his yearly goal of using the sewing machine and created this adorable pink pillow as a gift for his baby niece. So much love went into this hand-crafted treasure!
🎙️ Finding Your Voice with Colne Radio 106.6FM
Thanks to the fantastic team at Colne Radio for delivering a brilliant course on interviewing and recording skills. Our trainees completed interviews that will be broadcast on 15th May at 10am we can’t wait to tune in and hear their voices shine!
⛵ Sailing Adventure with Pioneer CK18
What a perfect day for sailing! Our trainees enjoyed a scenic trip from Brightlingsea to Wivenhoe/Rowhedge with Pioneer CK18. Many thanks for the warm welcome and fantastic experience on the water.
