Artwork by four Level Best Trainees is being exhibited at Colchester Library this September as part of a new community exhibition celebrating storytelling and visual art.
From words to works of art
When Words Become Visible brings together artwork inspired by books, stories, quotes and other written works.
Level Best Art Trainees Adam P, Simon, Jamie and Sam have all contributed pieces to the exhibition. Their creations draw inspiration from much-loved books including The Gruffalo and Alice in Wonderland.
Each piece in the exhibition at Colchester Library is accompanied by a short reflection from its creator, explaining the words or story that inspired their work.
The exhibition puts imagination, connection and personal storytelling at its heart. Alongside Level Best, it features contributions from St Fillan’s Care Centre, St John’s C of E Primary School, Loganberry Lodge Care Home and local artists Clare Welton and Iris Lee.
Sharing Trainee artwork in community venues is an important part of our Level Best Art programme. These opportunities help our artists build confidence, celebrate their achievements and introduce their individual creative styles to new audiences.
We are incredibly proud of Adam, Simon, Jamie and Sam and hope lots of people will visit the exhibition to see their work.
